Kaavi Blues festival was started on 2005 by original idea
from
Ville Haatanen. The idea was
to bring Norwegian/American blues band called Hooter´s
Blues to perform at Kaavi.
Also band called Big Bad Bears from Kuopio, Finland,
performed at Kaavi that day.
Kaavi Blues society was established on the year 2006 and
also then the festival was re-located
from the market place area to the Kaavi marina. The
festival has been two day event since the
year 2007. During the years Kaavi Blues has presented
dozens of blues bands from Finland
and from the other countries as well.
